    Signage Material FAQs

Which signage material is best for permanent outdoor use?

Aluminium Composite (ACM) is the gold standard for permanent outdoor shopfront signage. It is rigid, rust-proof, weather-resistant, and maintains its finish for 5+ years.

What is the cheapest signage material?

Vinyl stickers and PVC banners are the most cost-effective options, starting from £12.18 for an A2 size. Foamex is the most affordable rigid board, starting from £65.83 for A2 3mm.

    Can Foamex be used outdoors?

Foamex can be used for short-term outdoor signage (6–12 months). For permanent outdoor use, we recommend Aluminium Composite instead.

What is the difference between 3mm and 5mm Foamex?

5mm Foamex is more rigid and durable than 3mm. For larger panels (1sqm+), 5mm is recommended to prevent bowing. For smaller signs, 3mm is sufficient and more cost-effective.

Is acrylic suitable for outdoor use?

Acrylic is primarily an interior-grade material, ideal for reception areas and premium interior branding. For outdoor signage, use Aluminium Composite instead.
